Actor’s Nightmare

April 11-13, 2013
Law Auditorium

Written by Christopher Durang
Directed by Doug Odell & Kelly Duffy
Technically Directed by Kaitlin McManus
Produced by Shelby Pelesky & Colleen Gilmore

Following one act’s worth of vignettes encompassing the tech week before one theater troupe’s production of various famous plays, Durang’s The Actor’s Nightmare is a hilarious parody of absurdist theater–and theater itself. Having casually wandered onstage, George is informed that one of the actors, Eddie, has been in an auto accident and he must replace him immediately. Apparently no one is sure of what play is being performed but George (costumed as Hamlet) fumbles his way through absurdist versions of several different famous theatrical productions!
